There are many available and the one you finally choose will have to be the one that suits you best. In making your choice you have to keep your likes and dislikes in mind as well as your lifestyle.

* The time available for preparing meals
* How often you eat out
* Your activity levels
* Your budget
The last one may seen strange, but keep in mind that for some diets you have to buy a lot of extra expensive foods and if you cannot afford it, the diet is not for you.
A word of warning though, stay away from fad diets, they may make you lose a lot of weight to start off with, but you will gain it all back and more.

All warming up means, is that you must run on the spot for a few moments to get the blood circulating before you start exercising in all seriousness. If your cardio is going to be walking, all you need to do is walk slowly for a bit and as the blood starts circulating you can slowly increase the pace. The same goes for jogging.

Anything that sends your heart rate up can considered cardio exercises. Walking, jogging, swimming, kicking a ball with the kids and jumping on the mini-trampoline can all be considered good cardio exercises. Make sure you send your heart rate up to about 60% of it’s maximum rate and keep it up for 30 to 40 minutes tops. Working any harder will not make you lose weight and get fit any faster!

This does not only mean working with weights, there are lots of exercises you can do without weights that will also help a lot. Any movement that you do in a controlled manner to work specific muscle groups can be considered strength exercises. Which ones are the most important for you will all depend on the areas you want to work on most. Keep in mind that you have to exercise all your muscles to keep your skeleton in line.
7. Good stretches:
After you have exercised, always stretch at least all the muscles you have exercised. This does not only prevent injury, but it also helps with the slimming effect and you can even lose a dress size or two by doing proper stretches. Do not skimp on your stretches!
