Motivation is vital in almost every diet. But dieters who are attempting to lose drastic amounts of weight through very low calorie dieting or a VLCD, motivation is even more vital than usual. If a dieter isn’t truly motivated to stick to a diet…then it’s a pretty good chance that they won’t. Sticking to it isn’t easy. It’s really, really hard. So without the needed motivation it’s almost a given that a strict dieting program will fail.

People who find that they are struggling to stick to the very low calorie diet required by the homeopathic HCG diet will sometimes say that as a new motivation they are going to spend more of their hard earned money. They are going to go out and purchase HCG diet injections and try the diet again.

How strange is that? Silly? It’s similar to how some parents believe that if they refuse to pay for their kids’ college education the kid will appreciate it more because they’ll have to struggle to pay for it themselves. You can see where the logic is. Dieters think that if more of their money is “on the line” they will stick to the diet because they’ll feel bad about wasting money.

Going out to purchase HCG diet injections does not work; it’s a failed trip. It is not a successful motivator. It’s tough to stick to the homeopathic HCG diet. But does it really seem logical to spend more money and then expect it to be easier to stick to the exact same dieting protocol. Look beneath the surface and really examine the potential motivation involved here. Is is a good choice as a motivator?

If you’re already having difficulty sticking to these rules what makes you think that you can do any better with the additional responsibilities that come with HCG diet injections. You’ll have to involve a doctor at this point. And deal with the added stress that needles bring to the table.

If you are really attempting to stick to it and you’re having a hard time try relaxing. Relax, sit back and take some time to think and consider just how things are going. In general a really tough day is a result of something. It can indicate that something needs to change. Try to figure out what the problem is. It could be that you need to drink more water. It could be that you have been making exceptions and you need to remember that sugar is a no-no. Maybe you need to rededicate yourself to the rules. Try a new brand of herbal tea. Consider all the possible reasons for having a really hard day.

Do your best to take what can only be described as a really hard day and change it into a positive thing. It can be the point at which you noticed that something needed to change. It made you aware of a problem. The problem could be that you aren’t getting enough water or that you need to try a different herbal tea or that you need to quit making exceptions. The bad day is over. It was tough. And it was not fun. But stuff like that happens sometimes. You might even find that you’ll have another hard day tomorrow. Sometimes it’s unavoidable. But think of it this way…by the time you sit down and think about it and decide it deserves to be labeled a “bad day” it’s usually at the end of the day and it’s over. And you made it through just fine.

Consider your day each night before bed. If you can think of something that you can do to make tomorrow a good day then make sure to do it. And if you fail to create a good day then you can know that hard days are normal. They are necessary. Bad days are there to make sure we recognize it when a good day pops up. And in addition…knowing what they are makes it possible for us to attempt to generate good days more often than bad ones!
